2007 Annual Program Meeting
Proposal Submission Site

On-line Abstract Submission Deadline:
Friday, April 27, 2007 (11:59pm USA ET)

No Paper Abstract Submissions will be Accepted.

Provisional Notification
You will be notified of acceptance or rejection via email by July 5, 2007. If accepted, this is a provisional notification only, and will be considered final only when all presenters have complied with membership and registration requirements.

Decisions regarding Faculty Development Institutes will be issued via email on May 11, 2007.

Agreement
All individuals wishing to submit a proposal should first read the complete APM Call for Proposals here. By entering the proposal submission system, you are agreeing to the policies listed in the Call for Proposals.

Here is a summary of the requirements for submission and presentation:

  • Persons submitting an abstract are doing so with the understanding that they agree to abide by the conditions and policies in the Call for Proposals, as well as the decisions of CSWE’s Council on Conferences and Faculty Development and the abstract reviewers.

  • All accepted proposals will be published, in their entirety, on CD-ROM as the "Proceedings of the 53rd Annual Program Meeting of the Council on Social Work Education" and distributed to meeting participants.

  • IMPORTANT: Each individual listed on a proposal is expected to be in attendance at APM and is responsible for obtaining individual membership in CSWE (or qualify for a waiver) and is expected to register for and attend the Annual Program Meeting. DO NOT list authors on a proposal who will NOT be in attendance as a presenter, or have not been informed of the requirements of presentation. This does not preclude adding other author names to your final paper (when you submit it for publication in the future), but these names should not be included as presenters in the online system.
    • All accepted presenters must be current, paid CSWE members at the time of the meeting, or qualify for a waiver. All waiver requests must be submitted through this online system.
    • All accepted presenters must register for and attend the Annual Program Meeting.
    • Failure to comply with membership and/or registration requirements by August 31, 2007 will result in a $100 penalty for each presenter and removal from the APM Program.

  • No presenter may be listed more than one (1) time as the primary presenter and no presenter may be listed on more than three (3) submissions total.

  • All presenters must be available to present at any time during the conference. CSWE will not accept any special requests. The dates and times of the sessions are as follows:
    • October 27: 9:00 am - 4:30 pm (Faculty Development Institutes only)
    • October 28: 10:30 am - 4:45 pm
    • October 29: 7:15 am - 4:45 pm
    • October 30: 7:15 am - 4: 45 pm

Before You Begin
You will need the following information before you begin the submission process:

  • Full name, title, organization, address, phone, fax, email, and brief biography for each presenter. Ensure you have the correct spelling of each name. Debate and Think Tank proposals also require the submission to include the name of the session chair.
  • Information regarding membership waiver qualification for each presenter (if request is to be made). This includes whether the individual is a full-time practitioner, resides outside the US or Canada, or is a full-time baccalaureate or master’s student.
  • Your abstract information, including title, overview, abstract, references, and learning objectives. You will be able to copy and paste this information from another document. Please note, abstract text is limited to 750 words.
  • Audio/Visual Requirements. All requests for equipment must be made at the time of submission.

Submission Process
When you submit an abstract, a confirmation message will be sent to you as soon as you submit your e-mail address. This message will remind you of your abstract ID and password, and of the location on the web where you can see what you have submitted. You should also write down your ID and password as soon as they appear in the Abstract Control Panel (the left-hand frame in your browser window) in case your submission confirmation message is lost or delayed.

IMPORTANT: Please be sure to provide a valid, long-term e-mail address with your submission, as this address will be used for all further communications (including acceptance/rejection notifications) regarding your abstract. Please do not use an AOL.com email address, as they often reject mass emails, such as those sent by CSWE. Information will only be communicated via e-mail.
