Online Proposal Submission Deadline:
Sunday, March 29, 2009 (11:59 pm USA ET)

No Paper Submissions will be Accepted.

Provisional Notification
You will be notified of your proposal acceptance or rejection via e-mail by Friday, June 5, 2009. If accepted, this is a provisional notification only, and will be considered final only when all presenters have complied with membership and meeting registration requirements.

Decisions regarding the preconference Development Institute (FDI, FDDI, LDI) Workshops will be issued via e-mail on Friday, April 17, 2009.

Agreement
All individuals wishing to submit a proposal should first read the complete APM Call for Proposals here. By entering the proposal submission system, you are agreeing to the policies listed in the Call for Proposals.

Requirements for submission and presentation:

  • Persons submitting a proposal are doing so with the understanding that they agree to abide by the conditions and policies in the Call for Proposals, as well as the decisions of CSWE’s Council on Conferences and Faculty Development (CCFD) and the proposal reviewers.

  • IMPORTANT: Each individual listed on a proposal is expected to be in attendance at APM and is responsible for obtaining individual membership in CSWE (or qualify for a membership waiver) and is expected to register for and attend the Annual Program Meeting. DO NOT list persons on a proposal who will NOT be in attendance as a presenter, or have not been informed of the requirements of presentation. This does not preclude adding other names to your final paper (when you submit it for publication in the future), but these names should not be included as presenters in the online system.
    • All accepted presenters must be current, paid CSWE members at the time of the meeting, or qualify for a membership waiver. All waiver requests must be requested through this online system at the time of proposal submission.
    • All accepted presenters must register for and attend the Annual Program Meeting.
    • Failure to comply with membership and/or registration requirements by Friday, August 7, 2009 will result in removal from the APM Program.

  • No presenter may be listed more than one (1) time as the primary presenter and no presenter may be listed on more than three (3) submissions total.

Before You Begin
You will need the following information before you begin the submission process:

  • Full name, title, organization, address, phone, fax, e-mail, and brief biography for each presenter. Ensure you have the correct spelling of each name. Think Tank proposals also require the submission to include the name of the session chair.
  • Information regarding membership waiver qualification for each presenter (if request is to be made). In response to the increase in presenters from allied disciplines and the recognition of overlap growth of interdisciplinary fields related to social work education, the CCFD approved expanding the membership waiver criteria to the following.
    • You are a social work practitioner
    • Or you are a practitioner or an academician in an allied discipline (i.e., nursing)
    • Or you are an academician from outside the U.S.
    • Or you are a social work student enrolled in a baccalaureate, master's or doctoral program
  • Your proposal information, including title, overview, abstract, references, and learning objectives. You will be able to copy and paste this information from another document. Please note, abstract text is limited to 750 words.

Submission Process
When you submit a proposal, a confirmation message will be sent to you as soon as you submit your e-mail address. This message will remind you of your proposal ID and password, and of the location on the Web where you can see what you have submitted. You should also write down your ID and password as soon as they appear in the Proposal Control Panel (the left-hand frame in your browser window) in case your submission confirmation message is lost or delayed.

IMPORTANT: Please be sure to provide a valid, long-term e-mail address with your submission, as this address will be used for all further communications (including acceptance/rejection notifications) regarding your proposal. Please do not use an AOL.com e-mail address, as they often reject mass e-mails, such as those sent by CSWE. Information will only be communicated via e-mail.
